At least ten dead in Kabul bomb attacks

An Afghan Defence Ministry official said at least 10 people were killed in bombing attacks in the capital Kabul.

General Ahman Zia Yaftali said 10 bodies arrived at military hospitals from the site of today’s attack.

Afghan officials said civilians, Afghan policemen and an Indian citizen were among those killed.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for deadly suicide attacks.

He said there were some foreigners among the dead but did not have figures or nationalities.

He also did not have information on how many dead were police or civilians.

At least two police officers were reported dead by other sources.

The director of Kabul hospitals, Sayed Kabir Amiry, said more than 32 people were wounded in the strike.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said five suicide bombers conducted the attacks on two buildings used by foreigners.

Police officer Gulam Mustafa at the scene said authorities think two residential hotels, or guest houses, used by foreign workers in Afghanistan were the targets of the attacks.

Residents in the area said Indians were among those living in the hotels.
