Taoiseach calls for 'realistic' talks with unions

The Taoiseach said today that the Government is willing to hold talks with the social partners on a "realistic basis".

Brian Cowen's comments come as public sector-unions step up their campaign against the pay cuts from December's Budget.

Strike action is set to hit various public services including hospitals in the coming weeks.
